Guest Swampie Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Any suggestions how to migrate my SMS and contacts from my SPV C500 to my new MDA Vario in the least troublesome way (preferably avoiding Outlook as my Outlook contacts are work contacts, and my mobile contacts are personal). Thanks

Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Backup your outlook contacts to a second contacts folder then use activesync and outlook to migrate them. Then restore the status quo and change activesync to not sync contacts. 2 minutes and dead easy. Doing it without outlook involves much faffing about I think.
Guest Swampie Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Done it your way and it worked perfectly. That still leaves the SMS's to be transferred though. Any suggestions about that? Thanks
Guest Swampie Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 In the end I discovered Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook. This allowed me to download all the SMS messages from my phone into an Outlook folder, and then copy them onto the new device. They have a copy on their website which gives you a 15 day trial. :) Plenty of time to transfer the SMSs! One thing to note - when copying from PC to phone, remember that it copies the currently selected SMS, so you need to select all if you want them all copied. I kept thinking it wasn't working!

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Other than that, it seems like a great piece of software.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Do you really need all 1100 sms's?! If you really think you do you could copy the first 1100 over, delete them, then copy the rest in a second batch...
