wont find the sd card anymore, and its beginning to grind my gears.

Does it eject the card ok? Can you see the card in another device? What have you tried so far?

I have no other devices to try it in, and yes it ejects ok. i dont think but a firend of mine tried to put a memory stick duo in it, that shouldnt have messed it up but maybe. It was working fine until it completely crashed and had a hard reset. ive tried a soft reset with the card in and out, no go.

Oh dear. Does the socket look bent or are there any pins out of shape inside? What tools / experience do you have of opening them? You can probably bend the socket back into shape.

the socket looks ok, i think its a software problem, ill contact hp in a little while. in the meantime do you think its worth taking back to the place of purchase for support(its still under warrenty). maybe if i did a hard reset with the card out? i dont know.
