charging gps receiver

I have just got a cheap gps receiver from mobile fun, I am quite happy with its performance, but when charging via usb I get a message popping up every few seconds saying the usb device is not recognised. As the receiver came with no disk, I wonder if there are any drivers available? Has anyone encountered similar problems?
