Guest carltabs71 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Hi, My stylus doesn't stay secure within my mini s anymore. Its only around 6 weeks old, and o2 have said they will send it away for me. I am reluctant as this will mean I will could be without the use of my pda for up to 3 weeks, and with using it daily for work this would be a real struggle. I have bought a t5 screwdriver and opened up the case :-) and found that within the case is a small black clip that is kind of spring loaded, but on mine this is broken/snapped... The clip is actually attached to the rear of the inside of the case ... does anyone know whether I could buy a spare case from anywhere? I have looked on ebay, but no joy. Its easy to swap them if I could only get hold of one! any help would be greatly received :-) Many thanks, carltabs71
Guest richard_hogg Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 There are two 'standard' repairs for this.. 1. Blu-tak inside the case to hold the stylus. 2. Some sellotape on the stylus to stop it sliding out (I use this one). It's a common fault with the k-jam. Not seen cases up for sale anywhere, you would either need to get a repair or use one of the methods above.
Guest carltabs71 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Thanks for your ideas - might just give them a go. Not very good design then if it is a common problem, it did look very poor to me when I opened it up. and O2 said that they had never heard of this fault before? yea right! carltabs71

I understand there are seals on it which indicate when it has been opened, HTC replace them when they open a unit, and warranty repairs are refused when the device has been opened without the seals replaced. I do remember that someone came up with a way to open an SPV C500 without tampering with any of the seals though..
