I didn't see any topics regarding this so I said either nobody's interested or I'm the only one who doesn't know if it is possible or not... So I said I should ask.

Plain and simple the question is: Is it possible to download from internet via the embeded IE or Opera? Like on a standard PC or laptop connected to Internet. I mean from a Smartphone (like C600) not PPC.

I talk about not only to download files but also saving pictures, for example. I found myself many times browsing with Opera (my favorite one cause supports frames and has many other features) and when I reach a page with some cool photos (a gorgeous babe let's say :) ) I cannot "right click" and say "save photo" or "save target as", etc. Is this a feature not implemented in mobile browsers or is just me who doesn't know how to do it?

For photos I've found something but is not so straight... Checking with File Explorer the browser's cache folder. But finding a certain photo there, with al the file names that says nothing it's a real pain in the ass.

If anybody has some ideeas or maybe other programs that brings this functionality, please post it here

Many thanks

i also find this is an inconvenience.. i wanted to transfer a homescreen from my PC to the phone, and as I had the cable on my work desk i was unable to transfer it trough the cable or bluetooth.

so i uploaded the file to a webserver, and then i accessed the URL with the phone (wifi) but nothing, i was unable to get the damn file!

if anybody has a solution, i'm interested to know as well.

right now, if i wanted to transfers file to my phone from work (no cable or bt), i would upload them somewhere and rename the extension to something IE will automatically download (such as .png). Once I download the .png file (obviously it won't be an actual png), the phone tries to open it and fails, then go to file explorer and rename the extension back to whatever it may be.

A hassle... so.. if anybody has a solution... :):D

It would also be nice to be able select where to download files to. Such as maybe the storage card. I know for WM2003 on the pocketpc there is pieplus and multiie which add functionality to the built in PIE. Don't really need tabbed browsing, but ability to select download location would be nice along with maybe the ability to select, copy and paste. A smartphone PIEplus would be great.
