GPRS Counter Gone?

I got a brand new T-Mobile MDA (US) and it used to count the minutes connected to GPRS in the top "bubble".

I messed with it a little since I got it, mostly to get VPN to work - but the original GPRS connection is the same. I also installed SPB pocket plus and a navigation software.

I noticed that my GPRS counter is now gone. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas how I can restore it?
