Problems with video, contacts, java, and internet!

Hey I purchased my SDA the day it came out then switched to an MDA the day it came out, and am loving it.

1. I converted some videos to 320x240 and mp4 format, and the crap is soooo choppy. Any tips on creating videos that will run decent? Or is there a 3rd party media player that plays them better?

2. On the SDA I could choose to view the contacts by [First Name] [Last Name] instead of the default [Last Name], [First Name]. I moved the pim from my SDA to the MDA and the contacts from the SDA are still in the [First Name] [Last Name] format...how do I set the contacts to that when I add them on the MDA?

3. How do I install Java applications? Because of problem #4 I wanted to install the java wap Opera browser that supposedly allows me to view regular pages through the T-Mobile Web service.

4. I am on the SmartAccess type accounts since T-Mobile "accidentally" disconnected me, which forced me to go through 2 months of hell to get service reinstated, and by that time my number was recycled. Anyway, even though I was out of my contract for a year and payments were made on time I was forced to start from scratch with another smartaccess account. With this account I can't get T-Mobile Internet unless I have the lowest rate plan (like 300 anytime). So I'm stuck with T-Mobile Web. That's fine, but I can't even access the WAP pages that T-Mobile Web is supposedly able to access. Is there any workaround to access the regular internet with T-Mobile Web? How could I at least access WAP crap?

Thanks to anyone who helps!

In response to your first question, first of all, what bitrate do the files you've created have? If it's too high, that'll be why it's choppy. Try experimenting with bitrates as low as 300kbps up to about 600kbps to find what best suits your needs. Anything higher may be a bit excessive for a 320x240 framesize, in fact, using H264 and tinkering heavily with the settings, you can get a pretty decent quality picture with just 200kbps!!!

As for 3rd party media players, I have found that TCPMP is excellent (free too! :)). You can get it from http://tcpmp.corecodec.org

On the subject of Opera, have you tried 8.5b for WM5 (very good browser), available free from the Opera website or did you specifically want the Java version?

Actually I've used the opera browser for ppc with wifi, but can't use it over gprs/edge because I can't figure out how to access the regular internet with the T-Mobile Web crap. This is why I want to try the java browser because supposedly it reformats the pages and sends them through wap which I supposedly have.

Thanks for the help!
