Guest eyup Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Hi, I hope someone can help. I hardreset my phone last night because it was becoming a mess. Now my C500 has lost the "BT SerialPortsetup" utility that is needed so often when trying to get active sync to work. Can anyone help me as to why? I was hoping that when I added new ports a i tried to get my TomTom and active sync working i may regain the options but alas I havent. I have managed (struggled!) to get bluetooth working with active sync and my TomTom receiver but i know from experience that wont last long. Any ideas guys? Thanks
Guest abhayseth Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Pls go to the device manager & delete the current assigned ports. On the active sync establish a port aligned with your handset - (6 or 7) assign an incoming & outgoing port. let the active sync then look for a connection thru the connection manager while u establish a bt connection with your PC - the phone would pickup the active sync option & give u two options on the screen - active sync & serial port. Select active sync & u r back in business...! Hi, I hope someone can help. I hardreset my phone last night because it was becoming a mess. I went into Windows device manager and I don't think there are any ports for me to delete (not in properties of bluetooth anyway). I'm using a C550 but I noticed you directed someone else with C550 here, and my thread is getting any replies. Second instruction, I'm guessing this is to be applied using the handset. I can establish only an incoming port from the BLUETOOTH menu (as opposed to the Active Sync utility in which I can't find a way to assign Com ports at all. However "outgoing port" is greyed out so I can't assign it. Searching for new devices (with computer set to discoverable) yeild the message - "no devices were found. Make sure the device you are trying to connect to is turned on and discoverable. Do you want to try again?"
