Tomtom mobile 5 USA maps?

I was borrowing a copy of TomTom Mobile 5 and using the USA (specifically Florida) map on it. What is up with the quality of the maps?

A supermarket was still half a mile up the road and TT insisted I make a U-turn because I passed it. That supermarket has been there for probably 15 years. TT also suggested I cut through a housing development by taking two lefts and a right instead of just going straight and making a left.

I went on a trip from South Florida to Orlando (Disney World). TT insisted that taking 192 would be the fastest route in spite of other, faster highways in the area. Going home I couldn't for the life of me convince it that I was NOT taking 192.

The POIs don't list things like Animal Kingdom or MGM, none of the Disney park hotels either.

TT insisted I could make turns in areas where there wasn't a ramp or intersection.

So far, it has been able without fail to get me from my home to my work and it did well on getting me to the Starbucks we have frequented for the past 5 years.

I really wanted this to work since it seems very useful but the maps seem to be somewhere between hopelessly out of date and just plain inaccurate. The map says v566 and I suppose that's the latest version, right?

Anyone else using a different kind of map system with better luck? Fortunately I haven't had to rely on it to get anywhere critical. Once I got past the "gee whiz" factor of watching my progress on a 3d map the reality set in of how inaccurate it was.
