PLEASE HELP, AFTER MUCH TROUBLE I MANAGED TO CONNECT MY TOMTOM5 SOFTWARE WITH MY BT RECEIVER, HOWEVER WHEN I SET MY PREFERENCES LIKE KEEPONG THE BACK LIGHT ON ETC, THEY ARE LOST WHEN I CLOSE TOM TOM DOWN. UPON INITIALISING TOM TOM AGAIN, I HAVE TO GO BACK AND SORT PREFERANCES OUT. WHAT IS GOING ON. I HAVE A SPVC500 VERSION 4.2

Did you copy the Tomtom software on to your Storage card from a CD?

If so, you have probably got "Read Only" attributes set on all the tomTom files, thats why it cannot save your preferences (it wont allow the files to be changed)

Copy the files off the CD onto your PC

Select all files => Properties

and Uncheck READ ONLY

Now copy them onto your Storage Card

Alternatively you can do it from the explorer on your phone but it is a bit time consuming.
