spv c550 and Midi files problem

Whenever I download a midi file using PIE I get an error message saying

this file format is unsupported

I wonder have I done something wrong , I know my c550 can play midi as it has done in the past ok.

I thought it was maybe something wrong with the files but now I have treid about 30 sites and always get this message?

any ideas?

I have tried small midis 1-2k,medium 10,20k and 20k plus none of them work

I have renamed them in case of $&)£* etc causing problems , but even a 2k file called n.mid will not work ?

Does anyone know if there is a reg entry section for MIME types for Internet Explorer? (sort of equivalent of file types in explorer on a PC/s_phone)
