Will doing a hard reset delete the contacts on my SIM card? My battery is only lasting 12 hours with minimal use, and I'm hoping that it'll help. I've turned off the BEAM and Bluetooth settings.

Another stupid question. I was googling and found this:

"Mine was dying pretty quickly as well (overnight, for example)... Make sure that you terminate each of your GPRS sessions (internet, email, etc.) by pressing the red "hang-up" button... The G symbol above the signal bars will go away... Leaving GPRS on and connected is a battery killer..."

How would I do that? Thanks in advance. I'm about ready to chuck this phone out of my window.

A hard reset won't affect your SIM card in any way.

To disconnect from GPRS, press and hold the red 'end call' button until the little 'g' goes away.

the "G" icon on your status bar is only indicate if GPRS present in you provider network ;) If active GPRS, the small G is displayed ner the signal bar ;) You can turn of big "G" icon by tweak on registry or use any software tweaks etc. connection manager by mobilnaut.cz

Thanks for the help so far, guys. But yes, I'm trying to turn off the G on the external display next to the signal because I'm pretty sure that's what's killing my battery. I tried to hold down the red end call button, but all it did was lock the phone. Any other way of turning off my GPRS connection?

hey man... look.. picture one is, if gprs is inactive and picture two is if gprs active.

Piture one:

Picture two:

inactive2wo.jpg

this is photos by external display of MPx220, if your status same as on picture one, gprs NOT draining your battery, its only information if gprs is present in your provider network. Draining of your battery is possibly by incoming data ON... ;) look to the settings and turn off ;) if its on, irda is still on!
