Is it possible to alter the links which are given by default in the Orange Homescreen? Or to use the toolbar in other homescreens?

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but when I modify the orange homescreen xml and copy it back to the phone I can't see my new homescreen in the settings menu. is it protected somehow? i have managed to modify other homescreens without this problem.

edit: if I try to save under the original filename it tells me that it's read-only. is that going to be my problem? it's not stopping me from saving it as something else.

Have you changed the title of the homescreen in the XML?

Yes, I'm not new to this - I made quite a few homescreens for the original SPV - and I've successfully modified the Windows Simple homescreen as a way to refresh my memory. I'm going to try and copy the plugins to a fresh homescreen, I've pretty much decided that you can't copy the original Orange one, there's some kind of copy protection on it. I just hope that it's not in the dll files cos then I won't have a clue!

Yeh protection would't surprise me. Rather than saving over the original try opening up the XML and copying the contents to a new Notepad file

well I've tried that, and I have partial success. the 'bubbles' which pop out from the side bar don't display any text, although if you scroll up and down them they will perform the expected action. I'm going to have to spend a while trying to trick it into doing what I want.

this is just silly

first off i live in the USA

secondly i will never have a chance of ownign an orange phone

and thirdly i would like to run a specific homescreen on my mpx220 so i need those 1 or 2 dlls

that is all

my AIM name is stayhomekid if anyone has any way to allow me to use the damn homescreen made for orange phoes

First off its not silly if you have an Orange phone really, some people do prefer the original Orange homescreen. I wouldn't go asking for .dll's here this is not the place for that.

Good luck Coucou I may take a browse myself when I get time

Grr... my homescreen that used the Orange plugin no longer appears on my device. It's being checked by something to see if it's the approved homescreen xml. This is really annoying, I only want to make a couple of tweaks, like removing the reference to Outlook in the message section and changing the websites it calls out. ;)

Is there any other way of getting website links onto my homescreen? I can live without the orange bar - it does get a bit fiddly at times.

For internet shortcuts you can use the use the Launcher Bar in Facade. You set the shortcut as ="windows\iexplore.exe" (not exact path just off top of my head) and then set args="URL HERE"

You might be able to do it using RJ Shortcut also although I cant say for definate
