Homescreen display custom text from registry

I wrote an application similar with gsm track. Everything works great, except I have no way of displaying information from my application to the homescreen. One way is to write the text I want to display on the homescreen in the registry and then use some kind of plugin to read it and to display it after the SMS count.

Do you guys now anyway of doing this? Thanks.
