Can any one advise what I need to convert my SPV M1500 into a Sat Nav, and how much will the extras cost me?

Cheers

Hi there,

What you need depends on what you currently have. If you don't have any GPS software or a receiver then you're best going for a bundle from either CoPilot or TomTom - the two of the best SatNav solutions out there. You're looking at around the £180 mark - this includes the software (on an SD card), CDs of European maps and the desktop Windows version of the software, Bluetooth GPS receiver (with charger) and manuals etc. Setting them up is pretty straight forward as long as you follow the instructions to the letter! ;)

I can't comment on TomTom as I have never used it but it is highly regarded. I am using CoPilot on my SPV M500 and it works perfectly. Here are a couple of links you might want to check out:

CoPilot

TomTom

And the websites for both:

TomTom

Alk (CoPilot)

Have a look around and decide what would be best for you. In a nutshell, what you need to convert to Satnav is:

Software

Bluetooth GPS Receiver

Car mount (for your SPV)

Car charger (for SPV and GPS Receiver)

Have fun and happy satnavving! ;)
