Guest mrw1004 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Hi, When I went to make a call on my MDA vario the other day I could not hear the phone dial or the person on the other end answer, likewise they could not hear me. It seemed the mic and earpiece had failed. Hands free worked fine and a soft reboot did not help. I got the return packaging to send to T mobile for a repair, checked the phone just as I was about to send off and it worked fine. I was wondering if it had got stuck in handsfree mode even though no jack was inserted? anyone else seen this. Also how do you check the profile the unit is in on? my c500 you could see if it was in handsfree mode. all the best, mw
Guest thedaveyboy Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 The same thing happened to me but it sorted itself out after a couple of hours. My friend suggested that there is a sensor in the headset that got stuck. It has not happened to me again since.
Guest richard_hogg Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Had this on a couple of HTC phones.. The headphone socket is a bit iffy, if it gets stuck like that, stick the headphones in a little bit and take them out a couple of times slowly and see if that sorts it.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Ahh..ye olde HTC headphone focket probleme..... ;) A sharp blow into the hole sometimes clears the problem, though I had to poke around with an unfurled paperclip. It's a hardware switch that gets stuck.

However I was very impressed with T-mobile they said a pre-paid envelope would come next day for the return and it did. all the best, mw
