Hi. Sorry for posting this in the wrong section if any, but I believe this is a general help/support question.

I am hearing/reading here that there is a new IMATE ROM for the SP5m available.

Now, logging on to their website and having the download page in front of me - how the hell is one meant to know what version of ROM they have on their SP5m? There is nothing there that states the verison of the ROM, but only the OS and operator version on the device.

I wish they would put a "date released" on their download - would make things MUCH simpler no?

so please, can anyone tell me if or when the new IMATE SP5m ROM will/is available?

many thanks ;)

You can check the ROM version in the settings of your phone, system info. You will see that the ROM version you have is the same version offered at the imate site. There might be a new ROM in maybe 2 weeks, but that could be 4 weeks.... or longer.

Edit:

You can go one level deeper at the site to see the version number of the various ROM's.

but thats what I am saying - there is NO ROM VERSION SHOWN in the settings on the mobile device ;)

But just found out, when you run the upgrade it will, luckily, show you information about your phone including the ROM version and of course you can cancel it before upgrading if needed.

but still, they should have a "date released" on their website for members to know if it is a new download/version before downloading the 30 odd MB and realising "oh, its not a new version"

If you click on the link to download the actual file it will let you see the filename of that ROM before you click OK to actually download it. You don't need to download the ROM before you know it's filename.

BTW - this in on Firefox (the only browser to use ;) )
