Please help - contacts sync on startup

My Orange SPV M1500 always syncs the contacts on my sim card with the contacts on my phone at start (boot) up.

Because of this, all of the people in my list are there twice, and therefor recieve all of my messages twice. :evil:

Can someone point me in the right direction to disable this? ;)

Not sure if this is the same thing that you're having, but...

Are you sure it's syncing contacts from your SIM? PPCs have the facility to sync the Contacts (and Calendar etc) to permanent memory, which happens on every Soft Reset when activated.

You can turn it off by going to Settings, System, Permanent Save and unticking the boxes.

If you're contacts are screwed already you might want to:

1) Sync with a PC

2) Copy all your contacts into a new Contacts folder

3) Delete all your contacts from your main Contacts folder

4) Sync the device again

5) Soft Reset to force the in-device sync to update (should delete all records from the permanent save)

6) Turn off permanent save (if you dont want it)

7) Copy all your contacts back to your main Contacts folder

8 ) Re-sync your PDA
