cant dial contact after sync from outlook

im very new to this area but i have an issue that i hope you can help me with. one of the employees has synced all his outlook contacts into his pda. when he tries to call one of them(from the PDA) with "[1]" in front of the phone number it will not call that contact(ex.. [1] 555 555 5555) . but when he removes the "[1]" it will call them.

the simple solution would be to remove the "[1]" from them all and resync, but he has over 500 contacts in his list. is there an easyer way to do this or a settting that can be changed.

please help i have no clue what im doing with this issue, like i said im very new to this arena of technology.
