No selling on Modaco

Hey !

I just wanted to ask why there ain't any selling forum on Modaco ? I think i remember that there have been one once, but why has it been removed ? Right now i could really need one !

There is a selling forum but now it's via ebay.

Unfortunately there was a person who was making up different member names to steal phones and money from other members.

Because the people he stole from did not get together to have this guy caught we had no choice but to close the old section down to protect our members.

I can understand how after being in a "community" here at modaco that some people may get lured into a false sense of security, but I would never buy anything from anyone here (no disrespect to the people here) without seeing the item (those who had their phones stolen please don't flame me i'm not having a go at you). It seems a bit harsh that 99.99% of people are being punished for the abuse of a 0.01% number of people(numbers are to express the idea) , and pushing them to ebay (which could be possibly full of more pitfalls) and having to pay them for the privilage.

I guess the best advice is always "buyer beware", but I think people should be allowed to sell on this forum with that in mind.

So it's ok to let people be conned and then have all the emails and PMs etc informing me how the they are being laughed at from the person who is stealing from them?

Sorry but the main for sale section will remain as it is, as far as I am concerned I do not want to see a single person ripped off and will do my best to stop it from happening.

Calm down awarner, I did not at anypoint say it was ok to have people be conned. In fact I went to great lengths to avoid anyone getting upset, but it seems however, when one tries to sometimes make a suggestion to help out that is not looked upon as correct, they get flamed.

As a Joe bloggs user here i'm not aware of everthing that has taken place regarding the scams you mentioned, but it appears that i've stepped onto a raw nerve.

So I shall now bow out gracefully on this topic

Aty, I think it was the sentence above in which you offered your opinion (something you're entitled to do) that people should be able to sell the old way that made Awarner want to offer his own opinion to the contrary. I can't see Awarner flaming you anywhere in the post dude!

Anyway, as Awarner says, the policy will remain as it is (and was decided upon by the Senior MoDaCo team) so conversation over really...
