Guest banshior Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 I got TomTom 5.20 + C600. It works fine but it sometimes cancels - it works again after soft reset - I suspcet it happens when I change the gsm transmitter zone. For example on route from my work to home TomTom cancels in the same place ( +/- 100 meters) - near some big store. I put out the SIM card and.... and there was no problems with tomtom - I could drive and drive and drive for hours... Do you have any idea what I can do - navigation is useful but I would like to use phone options too ;) I live in Poland and got polish Orange Windows Mobile. I appreciate any remmark. regards
Guest looeee Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Have you tried TomTom's official support?

Guest pcsurgeonuk Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I have this problem to. Dont know if it happens at same place but it frequently crashes out on me. Needs a full restart to get working again. will run tomtom again straight after the crash but often after that it will bomb again or freeze and stop working (damn thing made me miss my moterway exit!) Its got so bad that its made it unusable, considering changing to the MDA-PRO just so I can have tomtom navigator instead of mobile.
Guest jlp1 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 (edited) This weekend I got my C600 with TomTom Mobile 5.2 aswell. It looks I encountered the same problem. Saturday morning, I drove off from my home and it crashed all of a sudden after about 1 km. I turned right at a crossing after about 2 minute drive. Sunday.. I drove off from home, again same spot. I restarted my C600 and my receiver and the rest of the 60km it worked fine but then I didn't turn on the map but kept the GPS info screen on my display to see if the GPS receiver lost signal or so. Monday (today), guess what.. yes same spot. After about 20 km it crashed again. I will try today on my way back and see if it crashes again on the same spot when I'm coming from the other direction. I'm very curious if anybody have found the problem and has a solution. Edited March 23, 2006 by jlp1
Guest jlp1 Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Without the POI on the map it works fine.
Guest pete1909 Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 I've been having similar problems, working fine one minute then radomly crashing :x I'll have to try try it without POI. Got to say I'm not overly impressed with the C600 seriously considering going back to my trusty C500.

To fix it I had to regenerate the POI.DAT file located in tomtom map folder. Try this TUTORIAL You should not have any poi related crash after that ;) Edited March 23, 2006 by Quenotte
Guest rekall Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) I tried this as I have just got my new C600 and it randomly crashes. I have now recreated my POI and this doesnt make any difference. I paired my BT GPS before running TTM for the first time - doesnt make any difference. One definitive way of crashing TTM with a C600 is go into the program, select option 6 and choose 'Browse Map'. Select options, change preferences, and select Points Of Interest' so its ticked and click done. Wham, TTM hangs and goes back to the homescreen. If you delete the POI.DAT file all is well and TTM just shows up your custom POIs. Something very dodgy about that file. EDIT: It seems it aint well after all even after deleting the POI.DAT file. Still randomly crashing, this is really pi**ing me off. Edited April 7, 2006 by rekall
