Guest Echilon Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 I installed a few apps on my O2 Mini S last night, then this morning the wireless wouldn't work. I can go into comm manager and click the WiFi icon but it just shows greyed out with an X next to it. I can see the 'SDIO WLAN Wireless adapter' in Network Cards, but Ministumbler shows 'No Wireless' and windows won't show any networks in range. The only thing I could think this could be is a registry problem, I ran tweaks2k2 today, and the Wizard registry Wizard yesterday. Please help me fix this one, the thought of installing everything again makes me want to cry
Guest jimbouk Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 Some WM5 devices seem to be losing wifi if memory is overloaded but a soft reset fixes that. If your problem is not fixed by a soft reset, I would guess that one of the apps you installed has interfered with the comm manager. Try removing one app at a time and them soft resetting and trying to start wifi. Otherwise it is hard reset time. (Download SPB backup - the free version gives you five backups before you have to register it - and do a backup, then hard reset and then restore and see if wifi is back).
Guest Echilon Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 Damn. I've tried soft resetting, but I guess I'll have to uninstall things. Thanks for the help.
Guest Laser_iCE Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Remember, that when you are uninstalling things, to do it one at a time so that you can pinpoint what the problem was! I've had troubles with my WiFi, but a soft reset fixed mine ... Well, best of luck ;)
