Hi,

Could someone please tell me where the sounds for SMS amd MMS email ETC are stored on the phone.

Also can you add your own ..I can't seem to find where they are?

Thanks.

I understand that all tones should be added to Storage/Application Data/Sounds

Thanks...I have the ring tones etc in this folder but there does not seem to be any of the tones for the messaging sevices.

I can change the ringtone ok but not any of my tones for the messaging services...( It is on Orange if that helps),

Thanks.

Apparently you can only use wav files for alert tones and they would be put in the Application Data/Sounds folder...

OK I have done this now...I can see the sound file when I look in sounds for "new sms message" BUT it does not play? Just get a beep?

any advice?.

PS I Have checked file on computer and plays fine :-(

Another thing ...if all the pre loaded sounds are in this folder why can I not see them also?

I get the same problem with the bleep. Its something to do with the properties of the .wav. Certain wavs just simply wont work for me. It can prove really annoying really. You could try converting it to .mp3?

About the other files.... you probably can't see them because they're hidden. To be honest I dont think the standard ringtones are stored in that folder but Im not positive

I have found the rest of the tones in the windows folder.

However when you put one of your own files in there you can chose it if it is a wav but it still just plays as a beep sound!.

If you put a mp3 in it does not appear on the choices list it at all?

Someone must have done this on here!

Anyone!!!!

To use an mp3 as a ringtone I put the file in My Documents and then open up Multimedia Album and then highlight it, right soft key, and go to set as ringtone

Hi. Tones to use for SMS and MMS and Email, should be .wav or .mid . You can place them in /Storage/My Documents/ or /Storage Card/My Documents/ and not in subfolders (then it will not appear in options).
