Best Text Input Method

I am looking for for a solution to inputting text without using the stylus - ie. a good on screen keyboard that will allow me to enter text quickly and easily by hand.

So far I have tried a few different ones and the one that matches my requirements the best is the in built 'phone pad' as this allows the input of text using t9 in much the same way as any other phone, just without the physical buttons.

Although the best yet, phone pad is not quite perfect so I am looking for variations on the in built application that make it that much easier to use. This may mean better spaced buttons, added functionality, bigger space and return keys etc.

Any recommendations?
