SPV C600 EDGE

It seems that I can now get an EDGE connection on my C600 on Orange. However it seems to be pretty intermittent so that the 'G' and 'E' indicators swap around at random whilst I am in the same location. Anybody got any advice on why this is happening? I mist say that using EDGE gives a huge improvement in performance compared to standard GPRS.

maybe you are on a cell boarder (in the middle of two base stations) and hence toggle between the two sites (one of which is EDGE enabled and the other GPRS?)

I supposedly have 4 EDGE transmitters around my post code area, but i'm still as yet to have seen the E symbol ;)

Are the two postcodes i spend most my time in. I'm not sure if there are any transmitters actually covering those areas or what the postcodes of the areas covered are, so any help is appreciated. Cheers!

I've only had EDGE coverage in France... and it felt slower than GPRS ;)

Neither Site is EDGE enabled - which is probably why you are not picked up the E symbol!!!!!!! The reason for this is that the main serving cells at both postcodes are 3G enabled, hence no need for EDGE!
