Uploading web cam pics

Hi

Can anyone recommend software that allows you to up load web cam pics/live video that you can monitor from a pocket pc? Prefereable something thats free.

The idea being that I can effectively use my Vario as a scurity monitor to see whats happening at home.

hmmm if i understand correctly you want to be able to view a live webcam session from your PPC?

well - some routers have a built in feature (Asus ones typically) which allows you to connect a webcam to it - and you can monitor whats going on like a security cam

all you then have to do is simply enter the url to the webcam on your PC - assuming external ports are open on the firewall - and thats it ;)

Im actually after a way to actually stream the videos from my PC TO the internet. I remember there being a program for XP that did this quickly for thoses with a smartphone/pocket PC. Thought I saw it ion Coolsmartphone.com a while ago. but cant think of the name.

Not sure about my Router - sorry im not a techy.

you could use windows media encoder.. i used it with my c500 for the same purpose.. great for checking who your girlfriend is entertaining whilst your on the nightshift ;o)

I remember trying something online with a webcam.

I set my webcam to upload an x amount of pic's per minute to my webspace... and a HTML page that would refresh every couple of seconds

so.. let's say webcam uploads picture pic1.jpg ... in a page pic1.jpg is shown. with a action to refresh it every 3 seconds. so evey 3 seconds you have a fresh picture from your webcam....

so no applications are needed. just the one to upload pic's to your webspace. and watch it on pocket internet explorer. anything usefull for you?
