Guest Kushan Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I got a whole bunch of SIM updates to my PAYG sim today then a message saying "Your Orange Safeguard Product has been disabled. Please do not respond to this message". I have absolutely no idea what this is and I can't seem to find any information about it on Orange's website or with the help of Google. I haven't done anything wrong or anything, have I?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 It might be the block on adult content (gambling/pr0n etc) being removed?
Guest Kushan Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 (edited) I haven't went near any of that stuff, I barely use my phone for anything more than sending text messages (bar all of the features of the SPV, like MP3 playback etc.). I don't even use the GPRS much any more. Edited March 15, 2006 by Kushan
Guest pisquee Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Yes, Orange Safeguard is the adult content blocking thing, not sure how it works, or how you enable or disable it though.

Guest Palindrome Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 That reminds me of the the time a few years ago when one of my flatmates fell asleep on a chat-line after coming home from the pub. He woke up at 5am and realised the phone was still connected. Cost him
Guest danwatson1974 Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Yep, safeguard is meant to prevent access to adult content, so if they switched it off, it means you have unfettered access to all of the porn and gambling available on the interweb. Sadly, it also blocks access to quite a lot of legitimate websites as well ..... particularly forums and the like.
