Guest flboiz13 Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 I dont know how it happened, I imagine i turned up my speaker too loud playing a loud song or something, but my external speakerphone speaker has blown. Now whenever the phone rings, it never gets as loud as it used to and buzzes a lot. Long story short, I am looking for a replacement speaker. I am an engineer and work everyday on small electronics, so I am sure i would be able to do the replacment myself however i need to first find the replacement speaker. To find this speaker i am looking for one of two things: 1: an old mpx220 that is non-working, but still has a fully functioning speaker or 2: a part number that I could buy a replacment speaker from somewhere online. If none of these succeed I was thinking about buying a set of headphones or small speakers and removing the driver and replacing the one on the phone with slight modification. any suggestions are well appreciated.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 A Nokia earpiece from ebay could be bodged to fit, else motorola parts are on 800-422-4210. There is no specific part number for the speaker in the service manual, but give the model type and componant name and they should find it for you. Doubt it will be cheap though. Richard
Guest TriAxis Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 You could try www.cnn.cn CNN.CN I just checked their site and didn't see it listed. Awhile ago they had all the electronics for the MPx220. Maybe if you called them they have them in stock or can order you one.
