Guest bshpmark Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 I am having one heck of a time setting up my T-Mobile (USA) SDA for access to my home wireless network. I can only make the connection if I set up my Belkin Wireless G router for no security and set up the SDA for an open connection. Can anyone provide me settings that I should use on the phone and router in order to have a secure network? I have tried setting the router for WPA/PSK, WEP, WPA2, etc. with keys, passwords, blah blah blah. But what the router asks for doesn't seem to exactly coincide with the way things are being asked for on the SDA. Any help would be appreciated.
Guest [email protected] Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 I was having trouble getting my phone onto the network at work. I had the connection all configured, but it wouldnt connect, until i tried this. Just click on the network, and it will ask you for the passkey, type it in, and viola you're on. The phone will pick up the configuration from there.
Guest bshpmark Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 The SDA doesn't have "passkey" anywhere. It has "network key." I have tried all sorts of settings and cannot connect with any type of security enabled on the router. The router has WPA/WPA2, WPA only, WEP, and Disabled as the four security options. On the phone, the options are Open, Shared, WPA, and WPA-PSK. Open equates to Disabled on the router. If I select WPA or WPA-PSK on the phone, I then have to select a type of Data Encryption. The options are Disabled, WEP, and TKIP. If I select WEP or TKIP I have to then enter a Network Key. I have tried entering the same keys that I entered in the router but I can never connect.
