Guest barry_slobb Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Hi, I hope somebody might have some advice to offer. As part of my job I sometimes need to move people from one device platform to another and seem to always have to jump through loads of hoops to get their contacts transferred onto their new device. It might be moving from a Sony Ericsson P900 --> Pocket PC device From Pocket PC ----> Nokia 9300 From a Palm OS device ----> Pocket PC Or even from an application - like Lotus Notes (personal name and address book) onto a Pocket PC device. Either way, there is often no straightforward way of doing this via a PC, I always have to mess around with intermediate steps. One of the biggest bug bears seems to be .vcf files which I can happily get out of a P900 or Lotus Notes (single large .vcf containing all of a users contacts), but impossible to get into Outlook 2002 as it only seems to be aware of single entry vcf files - indeed will only ever import the first entry - not much use when you might have 2000 ! I often end up going via csv and Excel, but always have to mess around with fields before finally getting the stuff into its destination device. Does anyone know of a conversion/transfer package that can cope with this sort of thing including format conversion? Cheers!
