Guest wolfrobinson Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I downloaded the trial version of Tweaks2k2 yesterday and it seemed to work fine on my Audiovox SMT5600. It did get hung when I was reordering the start menu, but I reset it and it worked fine w/the changes I had made. I bought the program and registered it. Now, when I go in to edit the start menu again, it's all out of order. It has ActiveSync as the first item and all the ones I really want at the end (4 screens later). When I go back in to reoder, it's only listing about six of the items (For instance, ActiveSync isn't listed as an option to replace on the menu). When I explore my phone under Apps, Windows, Start Menu, I see the ones there that I see available for editing. The problem is - I can't select ActiveSync to replace with eWallet because it's not in the Tweaks2k2 list. Anyone else having a similar problem? The help function is useless.
Guest mini_man Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 sheesh you payed to reorder the start menu?? There is away of reordering it without regediting as well and its free! Install this http://www.airfagev.com/downloads1.asp?id=128 It is an alternate startmenu program that has the function to reorder your items on the list. I reorder them and them uninstall the application its a really simple method.
Guest wolfrobinson Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Yes, I'm embarassed to say I paid for it. Thanks for the tip - I'll download and give a try.
Guest mini_man Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 lol make sure you search and ask before you buy somthing your unsure about as its a very simple reg tweak to reorder the start menu!
Guest wolfrobinson Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 I thought I would use some of the other utilities within the program....but the main issue was the start menu. gStart works great though. Next question - what's a good free weather program? I've poked around. I've tried ConnectedBits, but it won't update reliably. I downloaded the trial of WeatherCenter ($12...) and that will update pretty good. FizzWeather ($14?) won't update either. I've tried them on my work network and my network at home. Any other ones I should try....any free? I like the details that WeatherCenter gives, specifically the wind conditions because I rollerblade a few nights a week when it's not too windy.
Guest mini_man Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 sorry but there arent any free ones around at the moment, you just have to pay for them.
