Guest Swampie Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Shame it seems more for managers and IT people than developers. Would like to have a whole day for WM5 development. ;)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Then you'll be wanting to come to the next modaco event where we'll be catering specifically for requests like that!
Guest Swampie Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Then you'll be wanting to come to the next modaco event where we'll be catering specifically for requests like that! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahaaa! Sounds exciting.....
Guest fluffcat1 Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Are we having a poll of modaco members going?...or maybe a secret handshake?... Richard ( who's in London anyway that week but would rather go to the Manchester date.)
Guest southernint3l Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 Are we having a poll of modaco members going?...or maybe a secret handshake?... Richard ( who's in London anyway that week but would rather go to the Manchester date.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When will there be meetings of this sort here in the US??and location as well
Guest fluffcat1 Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 When will there be meetings of this sort here in the US??and location as well I think you'll find there are *more* of this type of microsoft event in the US than anywhere else!...why not check the microsoft events site for your country on the highly original, unique and non-obvious URL: http://www.microsoft.com/events/ ;) Richard
Guest chucky.egg Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 see you there! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anyone else here? Never seen so many PPCPEs in one place! Free unsecured internet Wifi in case you hadn't found it yet.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Anyone else here? Never seen so many PPCPEs in one place! Free unsecured internet Wifi in case you hadn't found it yet. The kept knocking it off tho...kept getting a login prompt intermittantly....GRRRR! No mobile signal on Orange either....I wouldn't recommend it for another windows *mobile* event.. Richard
Guest chucky.egg Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Yeah, the venue wasn't great Has anyone found the presentations anywhere? I thought Jason said they were available for download, but I can't find anything
Guest fluffcat1 Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Yeah, the venue wasn't great Has anyone found the presentations anywhere? I thought Jason said they were available for download, but I can't find anything ....and no email linking to them either, no Q&A answers....thought it was just me they didn't like ;) ! Richard
Guest Wozbacca Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 yeah i was there... quite interesting, although i cant find "the website" that he refered to. he said the Q&A and slides will be on the website. but i cant find anything. not even on his blog. and he didnt reply to my emailed question either. anyone know where to get the beta for office mobile communicator. and what the minimum specs are for the voip capability.
Guest chucky.egg Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 ...and he didnt reply to my emailed question either. Ditto anyone know where to get the beta for office mobile communicator I must have slepth through that one. He was talking a little bit about Live Communication Server, for IM, is that what you mean?
Guest Wozbacca Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Ditto I must have slepth through that one. He was talking a little bit about Live Communication Server, for IM, is that what you mean? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah, he demod the office mobile communicator (like the desktop version Microsoft Office Communicator 2005) that allowed IM functionality from WM5.0 devices. but also VoIP communication from wifi ppc devices.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 You need to email Jason to get a hold of the beta (if the notes i made are correct! ;))
Guest fluffcat1 Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 You need to email Jason to get a hold of the beta (if the notes i made are correct! ;)) ...from most reports he won't reply though! Richard
Guest Wozbacca Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 i want a copy of the slides cos my boss has asked me to write a white paper on the conference and my notes dont have every slide written down!
Guest Swampie Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 The kept knocking it off tho...kept getting a login prompt intermittantly....GRRRR! No mobile signal on Orange either....I wouldn't recommend it for another windows *mobile* event.. Richard <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I wasn't at that event, but I went to a VB event held at the same place. As it's in a basement (although a nice basement!) I found I got no T-Mobile coverage there. WiFi worked intermittantly - I'd get a webpage to work, but when I checked my email it then seemed to stop working, cauing a login page to display on the browser.
Guest Wozbacca Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 apartently the guy sitting next to me asked reception about the wifi, and was told that it was £7 for 4 hours. thats why the username/password box came up. But i managed to get a unsecured web link over wifi when in the coffee area during breaks. charging for wifi at a windows mobile conference... seems a bit stupid really
Guest chucky.egg Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 The slides are now available for download: http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/archive/200.../06/569755.aspx
