Well, I'm in big trouble... I performed a hard reset and after Orange splash screen, i have a blank screen with nothing else. Backlight is on and nothing happens. I've waited for about 20min performed a new hard reset, nothing. Always the same blank screen. SD slot is empty.

Could someone help me ?

Leave it for an hour if it takes that long.. Mine took ages after the first hard reset. I allready planned a trip to Orange and voila!! it loaded.. So try waiting loooooonger..

3 hours now... still the same blank screen - not the orange splash screen -. When you waited for then end of the process, did you have the orange splash or a blank screen backlighted ?

Googleman and Bart,

How's your phones doing? I'm having same problem, only just done it though so wanting to know what sort of time I have to wait until it gets off the Orange sunset screen.

To Anyone (apologies if someone is signed on as Anyone ;) )

Also when it finally does boot normally (cause I bet I'm gonna miss it cause it's taking so long) do I have to do another, wipe IPSM, then boot to do the uncert procedure or can I just go into the boatloader and reboot the phone then do it?

again

phone will not re-boot unless some sort of card is in it . try re-boot with sd card this worked fine ,

Well I have waited all night - sleeping ;o) -. Nothing changed. Restoring backup was the only way to recover my little canary

I eventually got it uncert'd. It involved restoring from the image file I had on the SD Card as the first attempt seemed to screw the phone. After reading through a few posts it seems this is not uncommon. Once restored the phone started acting like the other users have mentioned

If you have done an image of your phone onto SD card then once restored try the whole process again and it seems to work, it did take me a couple of attempts to get the edited provxml files onto me SPV but they eventually went on there. It was at the point where you are waiting for the Activesync connection to kick in that gave me grief, I was doing it on my 1.6GHz machine with XP, I went into Task Manager and hiked up the activesync processes to Realtime, my system was stable so dropped the phoen in the cradle and it kicked in a lot faster. May help, may not.

I just got my SPV but does anyone know how I can find the files

(mxipcold_oem_10.provxml and mxip_oem_10.provxml) referred to in past postings?

When I go to my active sync>explore>mobile device>my smartphone>windows

and then look at the files, I dont see either of those 2 which require modifying.

any advices?

From the guy who wants his mobile to work in Russia

First of all welcome to the site :)

Look again

no really what you need to do is on your pc window, go to

Tools Folder OptionsView and check the box "Show hidden files"

As the files you are looking for are hidden.

The files are in the main Windows directory.

Any more problems let us know.

PS for your first few posts I would suggest you use the beginners section

also try the search section and try and use one key word to do a search.
