Guest leeym Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Does anyone know the correct way to configure a T-Mobile MDA phone to wirelesly sync with Exchange 2003 SP2? This includes inbox (drafts, sent/deleted items, outbox), calendar, contacts, and tasks? And when I say sync, I mean that items deleted off the device replicate to the server. Vice versa as well Thanks
Guest Pondrew Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Moved to Pocket PC Phone Help & Advice (as it isn't a Smartphone). If you mean wireless Activesync, it's unfortunately not possible with Windows Mobile 5 devices like the North American MDA. Sorry ;)

Sorry ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wireless sync via Microsoft Activesync is alive and well... I have been using a Sprint PPC-6700 for about 6 months sync'd wireless w/ an SBS 2003 w/ Exchange 2003 SP2 back-end. Sprint even (unofficially) released the ROM update so we can tinker w/ the SP2 Messaging and Security Feature Pack - allowing remote wipe, password policy, etc. Works like a champ. I just (actually) finished configuring a T-Mobile (USA) MDA to wireless sync w/ Exchange... Works fine. Msg me if you need help. tmp
Guest jimbouk Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 (edited) I am thinking Pondrew must be referring to the fact you can't sync with your pc/laptop wirelessly any more (actually you can, but its tough to set up). Any WM5 can easily sync with an Exchange Server 2003 SP2. With the new rom you can even get push email and remote syncing over GPRS whenever items change (as this guy seems to want). You set it up in activesync on your laptop/pc. Delete any existing partnership you have between the device and the laptop. Then plug it in and it will ask if you want to sync with an exchange server. Tick the box and then enter your server's address, username and password and domain (if necessary). You can then select which data to sync (contacts, calendar, email). After the first sync you can then decide which mail folders to sync. You can also set up your device to sync other data with your laptop. If you have outlook set to connect to your exchange server too, then both devices will replicate changes to each other - via the server. If you have pre AKU2 rom, then you can either sync manually over gprs or at set intervals. If you have AKU2 rom, you also have the option to sync when items arrive (ie direct push). This will provide you with a blackberry killing device! NOTE - direct push only works over GPRS. Everything else (manual and set interval syncs work over wifi, USB pass through etc). Neither are able to synchronize wirelessly with Exchange 2003. They seem to try to connect but cannot synchronize the folders. I get a status error code of 0x85010014 on the device. What did you do to get yours working? Any help is greatly appreciated. Desperate
