Guest wayf Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 i wld like to know the difference btw the two. the method hold left+right softkeys, and switch on the mobile will invoke option to set to factory setting. which kind of reset tht method belong to. and when doin reset, does it revert back to factory setting meaning tht all my contacts will be lost? how abt the flash/ ext storage datas eg photos, mp3s? my definition of factory setting will not delete any of my files but only revert the customisation to default. appreciate reply. thank you

Guest wayf Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 thnks. i saved ur reply so i can refer back. ^^
Guest Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 Assume it leaves your simcard untouched aswell? If you have your phone security code protected, can someone still come along, hold those buttons in and wipe your data ?
Guest scouser75 Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 Hi, If this Hard Reset is carried out will it affect the fact that I've got an Unlocked C600? I need to carry out a hard reset but am holding back until I know 101% that it won't affect the Unlock function. Thanks Hi, if you Hard Reset, the phone will be reset to factory settings and all of the data that you have loaded onto the phone will be lost, ie contacts etc, nothing on the storage card will be lost, but shortcuts to program files installed on the storage card will be lost as these are stored on the phone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest xda_gangsta Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Yup, its not a worry, a hardreset will not RELOCK your phone.
Guest r3m0t3 Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Why is it that when I perform a hard reset the registry editing that I did before remains there? Shouldn't it reset to factory default? Yup, its not a worry, a hardreset will not RELOCK your phone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest scouser75 Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Thanks Gangsta. I'll go away now and hard reset the thing. If I wanted to revert to list view after will it be possible? Yup, its not a worry, a hardreset will not RELOCK your phone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
