Guest Webreaper Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 We've been running a trial of some software we've developed for PPC, using about 100 XDAs over the last few weeks. However, it seems they keep having problems with the devices communicating with the internet. After 2 days of solid investigation, we've finally had an admission from a technician at O2 that at the moment their GPRS network load-balancers are (and I quote) "running hot", and may be dropping packets. Their infrastructure is in the process of some rather hasty upgrades, mainly as a result of an exponential growth in GPRS traffic since the start of February. Oops. ;) Wonder if it's got anything to do with the free 5Mb of GPRS data transfer they're currently giving away with online tariff sales (like the one I've just signed up for with an XDA Mini S today...). ;)
