C600 problems with ActiveSync 4.1 and Zonealarm

'lo there folks... my Orange UK C600 has the current ROM (operator version 11.2.1.5) and I'm having problems syncing with Outlook 2002 on my PC (WinXP SP2). ActiveSync 4.1 (build 4841) is installed and when the USB cable is in I can browse the handset, so it's working to some degree, but I can't actually sync anything. When I disable Zonealarm (freeware version 6.1.737.000) it synchronises normally and successfully.

Has anyone else had problems syncing a C600 through Zonealarm? There's a How To on the Microsoft site (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/zone.mspx) but this doesn't appear to be specific to the freeware version of ZA, as it has no 'Expert' tab in the Firewall (see Step 6 in the How To)

Any suggestions, please? (other than switching off ZA each time!) :roll:

Well... I actually answered this one myself! lol ... I checked that all important EXEs in the \Program Files\ActiveSync directory were recorded in ZoneAlarm's Program Control list. The first three (rapimgr.exe, wcescomm.exe and WCESMgr.exe) were all registered and approved for access but CEAPPMGR.EXE was not. After manually adding that EXE it's not immediately intuitive to find it in the list and edit it's access rights. It's listed as 'Application Manager' in the Program list. Once I'd pre-approved it's access rights, synchronisation worked normally. 8)
