Guest chedabob Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 im not sure if im allowed to ask this , but here goes anyway: i got wm5 installed on my c500. all good then i wanted to go back. i read that if you do a hard reset it will go away. nope. it just loaded the bootloader then stopped. i managed to reflash it and get it working again. now, i chose to downgrade it. i tried the r2dp all command in mtty from another c500 but got an error about certificate something or other. i did some more research and found a big long forum thread with images that can be written to Mini-sd cards with the pswrite command. tried that, held down volume down, it flashed, and then rebooted. then the orange screen appeared, then flashed white, then off, white then off. i wasnt sure what was happening and it did it for about 3 or 4 mins. i took the battery out, and tried again, and i got to the orange screen, then it told me about holding volume down to flash (strangely no IU test build screen this time). i tried, but it set not allowed, then it just goes to the flasher screen. ive tried flashing with an official orange rom but to no avail. can anybody help me? please.
Guest chedabob Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 right, i managed to reflash back to wm5 and its working. but how do i downgrade to wm2003se? am i doomed to run wm5 for eternity?
Guest xda_gangsta Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Probably not, u gotta find a ROM for your phone and install it same way you did WM5..I wanted to install WM5 myself on my C500, but now I'm not since its way to risky, I don't know what I would do if it broke! But yah, get a ROM image and insatll it just like u did from the tricolor screen
Guest Tech Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 discussion of illegal ROMs/OS's is prohibitted from this forum im afraid. Please do NOT download such software - just wait to purchase a device with the desired feature.
Guest chedabob Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 yeah, i got the orange rom image (are these classed as illegal, even though they come from the legal update) and flashed that to the card and it messed it up
Guest andreicaadi Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 (edited) Chedabob it seems we have the same problem but the difference is that i'm stuck in the tricolor mode (for eternity haaaahaaa LOL) if u find the way out of the freeze screen please tell me Edited August 25, 2006 by andreicaadi
Guest chedabob Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 i know on spv-developers, theres a bunch of tuts for doing the downgrade. it was a simple matter of getting an old orange rom, flashing it with the command line proggy, then updating with the official orange update.
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 I'd second having a browse around the SPV-Devs forum, you should be able to get it downgraded using their help.
