Guest CarpyQS Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Please help!! I've happily used a C500 for over a year without a problem, today my new C600 arrive and despite messing about with it all afternoon i can get it to work with sctive sync, It's not a firewall or virus protection issue, its been upgraded to active sync 4.1 no better, the problem lies with this driver update problem when changing from the old version for the C500 i think, but i've tried changing the drivers but there is only 2, no matter what i do it its starts trying to make an internet style connection wit the 2 moniters! and does nothing! Please help!
Guest Tech Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) uninstall activesync completely remove any partnerships from the mobile device REBOOT your PC AND SPV install Activesync 4.1 connect the mobile device via USB AFTER installing activesync it should then pick up the device hopefully. Make sure that you disable firewall protection for now. let us know what happens and any specific problems you have afterwards Edited March 23, 2006 by Tech
Guest CarpyQS Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Followed you exact instructions and had little hope of it working having thought i'd tried that amongst the millions of other things i'd tried but sure enough it worked a treat!! I'm so pleased! Seriously thanks alot it was really getting me down! In summary, rid your PC of all AS 4.0 as other wise the 4.1 does an upgrade rather then a fresh installation which i assume is whats fixed it, great! Thanks again
Guest CarpyQS Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Bad news! It appeared to be working but it just kept trying to sync for ages but nothing really happend, I unplugged it after 15 mins and tried it again and i got the same old local network conection problem! SOooooooooooooooooooo annoying!
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 I got AS4 working again after 2 weeks of rebooting, repairing, uninstalling and installing again...etc etc...blah.....tried different USB sockets.....tried different cables.......I recite the Microsoft ActiveSync troubleshooter off by heart to get to sleep.........all twenty-odd freakin' pages of it.......been through them all......... Apparently the new i-Mate SP5 ROM allows serial connection rather than RNIBS (or whatever  ) so you could try that. I won't disturb things while they're working though but I imagine I'll be on to it tomorrow ;)
Guest Tech Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 LOL well I had that before too where it tries to sync endlessly - what to do is remove the relationship/partnership and recreate it ;) try that, see what happens
Guest CarpyQS Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 I did try that removing the partnership and then re-paired but same thing happened! How can soemthing that worked so well on my C500 work so bad on this C600?? the maion reason i bought it was for the outlook/windows sync! Very dissapointed!
