SP5m - Data Call Layout Selected Error?

Did the ROM update (NRE), followed by IE and EDGE tweaks. Phone worked fine for 36 hours - now getting this Data Call/Layout Selected Cannot... ERROR - Cell radio is disabled (no service) and having an ominous white background behind the message. Sub Menus (Start, etc) all work fine, otherwise....

PS - also, the Home Screen Layout field is blank; strange.

Might want to try a hard reset and see if the problem is gone. If it isn't it might be a hardware failure ;)
