Hi Folks,

After an absolute mission trying to get rid of my SDA 2 (what a rubbish phone!) I finally have managed to get my desired C600 ;)

I'm currently using a t mobile chip on an unlocked c600, which I bought off ebay.

First problem I'm having is that I am not getting icons when I press Start. I'm getting the old style List menu.

I've been told that if I reset the phone I should get the Icons screen instead of List.

BUT if I do this will it get rid of the UNLOCK of the phone?

Also, the alarm on this phone is RUBBISH!! Firstly there's only 1 alarm! And you can't set it to go off everyday at a certain time! Any fixes? If not, then any way that the alarm tone does not take 5 seconds before restarting? I've currently set it to Increasing volume - I find this the "best" option.

What's the best aftermarker software to sync the phone with my Apple Mac?

I'm sure there are a million more q's I will need to ask, but for now I think these are more than enough :-I

Thanks

I think there is a registry setting you can change to fix your menu problem. Can anyone shed any light on it? Im sure I read it was in the registry. Humn.

It depends how the phone was unlocked as to whether it will be affected by a reset.

Thanks Xenzo. I must warn you all - I'm not very techincally or IT minded. I may need an idiots guide to doing anything. I'm currently surfing the net trying to learn stuff about the phone.

Hey, i've got a fix for you. I've been having a look around on my c500 with wm5.

Right, firstly, can you verify to me if you have a registry editor on your phone somewhere? Maybe in your accessories folder?

If you do not have one goto: http://www.pdagold.com/software/download.a.../phmregedit.msi

Download that registry editor and install it.

Once its installed, locate it, go into it and do the following:-

1. Go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER

2. Go into SOFTWARE

3. Go into Microsoft

4. Go into Shell

5. Go into StartMenu

6. Press the left softkey for Values.

7. Go into GridView

8. Change Value data to 1.

9. Press your Home key and go into start. It should all work fine now ;)

Step 10, let me know how it goes or if you have any more questions or problems.

Thanks again Xenzo.

I don't have the reg editor... and dont laugh at this next bit - I cant download it from your link because... ... ... I have a MAC :-)

I'll have to do it at my gf's (download the software that is!!)

Whilst I was in the vicinity of Accessories I also went into programmes to check if reg editor was in there - BUT there was nothing in the programmes folder at all! Is this normal?
