I already have TomTom Mobile 5 working on my Orange SPV C500 and have just purchased a new Orange SPV M5000. However, I have been advised by TomTom that they do not currently support the Orange SPV M5000.

Looking at previous post I have noted that others have had some success in installation of the latest version of TomTom onto this pocket pc phone.

Before I commit myself to purchasing a new copy of the software for the Pocket PC - can anyone advise me of any problems that they have encountered during installation & activation.

Thanks for your help.

Right, well this is actually quite a fiddly job. I spent hours last night trying to get TomTom 5 working on my M5000, got it done eventually.

You shouldnt have any problems if you use the gps reciever that you get with TomTom, but if not you may find a bit of incompatability with your BT on your COM ports.

Anyway I am no expert, just have a read of this post and it explains what to do.

I followed the instructions and it worked fine, althoug when I have finished doing what it mentions in that post I found the ony way to start up TomTom was to shut everything down, start up TomTom again, then turn on gps and then repair the 2 devices, it now works fine.

Hope you find it much easier than I did. Its well worth getting.

In the end I decided to Buy Tom Tom NAVIGATOR 5 - Software & Maps of Western Europe - Maps for my Orange SPV M5000.

I had no problems Installing it. But when I came to installing the Maps I got a Windows Error came up. So then I found out that you can Install the maps another way I Chose to send the files to the PCs Hard Disk and then I transferred the files to the SD card and that worked OK and know I have got the Great Britain Map on Tom Tom and the activation worked OK as well.

So now I have got Tom Tom working on my Orange SPVM5000 with a Tom Tom GPS Receiver MK2 and it all works very well.

I Hope this is useful to you all.
