Installing from .cab files?

Seeing a couple of good programs & tweaks around here, but how do I install from the .cab files? Do I extract on my PC before copying? Do I just run them? Do I open them with another program?

There should be a faster way to install programs! I just can't don't know what though, but there should be a better way/faster way! .cab I think is good but I hate having 2 transfer it over to the phone.. .exe does it automatically I know but it also installs junk on your PC

Ok, i guess i am stupid or something. I just got the T-Mobile SDA, and I love it, but i can't do anything with it. I can't get new ringtones, or homescreens. Everytime i try to add something to my phone through activesync it won't allow me to install it. anyone know what is going on?

That's probably because your phone is "application locked". You will need to unlock it first if you want to run unsigned programs.

If that is the problem then follow the first half of the app unlocking with registry editor.

Still not had a chance to try this .. battling with router / firewall issues which I seem to be getting through.
