Pair your bluetooth GPS device with the standard name. My GPS was named ROADNAVI.

Go to registry HKLM\Software\TomTom\GPS Engine

Check all the GPS models, if your GPS is not among them, add a new string called ModelXX, where XX is the next unused number. For me it was Model48. The value for this string should be the name of your GPS device. So I entered ROADNAVI as Model48s value.

Have you got the file TTGPSEn.exe? It should be placed on your phone and the string FilePathEngine should contain where it is located.

When you start up TomTom go to the prefrences and GPS setup, now choose a "non-standard GPS". Tomtom should now be able to locate your GPS.

Does tomtom find your GPS, but doesn't recive any data? Or doesn't tomtom find the GPS at all?

I thought my GPS was broken.. and then I found out that it just uses ages to start transmitting the satellite data. ;) And it had to be outside, inside my apartment my GPS doesn't see a single satellite.

Have you tried your GPS with another program?

tomtom finds it but doest receive any data from the GPS module. I have tried it outside but still nothing. I haven't used the module with any other application yet since I don't have any. is there any free application you can advice for either my mpx220 or my pc to check if the problem is signal??

The TomTom reciever is one of the best and as you get it with the mobile version is does not make sense to use another device. Also you do not get any setup issues either.

I don't think so. it is a crap at least for the country I am living in. most of the time it cannot find any sattelites.

I haven't paired my tomtom reciver to my phone at all.

All I do is switch on the reciever then switch on tomtom and wait 2 to 3 minutes to start recieving data indicated by the green flashing light on the reciever.

I am using tomtom mobile 5 with mark 2 reciever and moto mpx220 1.47 ROM

I do believe on the asian rom there is a BT serial port that needs to be set up to allow com port 6 to send and recieve for tomtom to work.

actually it is not the shape but the magnetic field that acts like an aerial.

just in case you wanted to know i use the hf150 hands free hard wired car kit with hc602 pro holder.

i didn't connect the mute wire to my radio so that the radio can be played at ormal volume but the voices can be heard for directions through the car kit speaker the only down side is i have to manually dim the volume for incoming calls but i can live with that.

nevre tried to see if it works with a blue tooth car kit it doesn't work with a bleutooth headset so cant imagine it would work hope some out there can answer yay or any as to whether it does.

I don't have ttgpsen.exe. Where can I find it? ALso, there are no registry entires labeled Tomtom at all. I think I must have installed wrong- I started with the 5.20 patch on tomtom website and copied to the SD card. Maybe I skipped something that installs the registry keys and ttgpsen.exe?

Thanks.
