Hello everyone

I have just received my first smartphone. It's a Qtek 8310. This is a company phone that is intended to be used as a test target for our software.

My problem is that I didn't get the manual with it. It got lost somewhere on the way which means I now have some really basic questions to ask.

Here I go:

Where do I place my java programs in order to install them with the midlet manager?

I noticed that if I use msn and my wifi connection drops it defaults to gprs. Since I don't have a gprs flat rate account I would like to disable this feature. In other words, msn should ONLY use wifi.

I also noticed that I can't ping my phone (timeout) when I'm connected to active sync. Once I disconnect I can ping it again.

Same issue with the wifi icon. It dissapears when connected to active sync. Once I disconnect the wifi icon comes back.

Only the first question is really mission critical for me atm but the others would be nice to know the answer to aswell.

Thanks guys,

mrmartin

Yup. I found that folder just after i wrote the last entry. Now I have a different issue.

How do I remove them? I can't seem to find them anywhere once they are installed.

Another issue I'm having is that my Windows folder contains more than a thousand files. Some of them look like 3721dc47-706f-496b-b381-9cca8f3e03d5.rgu or similar. I guess these are some tmp files that haven't been deleted. Is there anyway of keeping the device clean from tmp files? I know I have the option of storing them on SD but I haven't got one yet ;)

Thanks for your help

Well, I have the SP5 rom on my c600 so the Java version is probably a bit newer, but if its the same way you would go to Java Apps, select the midlet, goto Menu -> Manage -> Uninstall... As for the temp files I'm not sure you can remove them - maybe there is a registry tweak for it somewhere. Will throw it in your general direction if I find it...
