Guest clickshots Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 i read the spv m500 has a 400MHz cpu, but the spv m600 only says it has a 200MHz cpu. therefore surely the m500 is better? or not? am i missing something?
Guest Pondrew Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 It's not quite as straight forward as the M500 being better. They're different devices with different operating systems and different processors. The SPV M600 has a Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor. A capable processor. Although the 416MHz Intel Xscale in the SPV M500 does outperform the OMAP in benchmark tests it is possible to overclock the OMAP. Overclocked to just 240MHz (using a program called OMAPClock) the OMAP 850 outperforms the Intel Xscale 416MHz. Moved to Pocket PC Help & Advice as these aren't Smartphone's we're talking about!
