the button on the wired handsfree

Does any one know how to make the button on the bundled stereo wired handsfree do something useful? My flavour is the MDA Pro.

The way its set up at the moment (default I guess) the button does neither call answer nor hang up. Goodness knows what its for...

Ideally Id use it to trigger Microsoft Voice Control. Would make sense to use it for that but I cant figure out how as all the configure programs dont seem to recognise it as a button at all.

Any ideas?

;) It seems ridiculous that they give us a headset with a button on and then it doesn't do anything. I dont think it even answers or ends calls. I'm suffering the same thing. So, um, *bump*
