skype and other software problems

Following a soft reset Skype will always work but other times after being used and it gets closed down it won't restart. Anyone had this problem and resolved it?

I did try to remove and reinstall Skype however it claimed it couldn't uninstall it. Had a similar problem with Agile Messenger - I initially installed the wrong version and found it very hard to replace it with the correct one. Is there a trick with unistalling programs? Is there an issue if the progs are for PocketPC rather than Mobile5?
