Today I had a meeting at work, and as always I put my Qtek 8310 on silent.

Suddenly my phone rang very loud.

When I tried to reactivate it, it didn't work and jumped immediately from silent to my normal profile.

I restarted the phone and took off the battery. Nothing helps. My phone even wo'n't synchronize anymore.

HELP! (I don't want to do a hard reset yet, because next week I expect the ROM update)

did you app-unlock the device?

check the following things:

- that you see youir installed applications in Settings->Remove programs and not an empty list

- that you can enter, at all, any other subitem in the Settings (try Power saving for example)

- that you can install new applications

The other 2 "requirements" are already there (inability to change profile, inability to sync).

it lets you browse the device, though.

Unfortunately I haven't got a solution for you, I'm just trying to find an explanation to this "disease" that my SP5m got 2 times, shortly after app-unlocking.

bye bye

Thanks! The device is Fully unlocked. It was unlocked weeks ago, and new software could be installed before having this problem.

Last installed app was Morphgear for PPC, and I wanted to uninstall it. I didn't get an installed app list.

Active sync also didn't sync contacts and calendar anymore.

Now I already hard resetted my phone and reinstalled everything exept morphgear.

Ok, so you're the 2nd (or the 3rd) officially certified case of "acute unlockitis" ;)

You'll have to be very careful installing suspect apps when you have your phone unlocked.

I know to be carefull. I installed it according to a tutorial on modaco.

How did you know about the empty list by the way?

I knew about the empty list, and about the other disfunctions because this happened to me 2 times, too.

It seems that if the phone is unlocked, any installation going wrong wrecks the phone OS and forces an hard reset.

This is unacceptable! Because you don't even give a chance to the app to mess with the phone, you only install it!

Aha.

It's indeed an unacceptable situation, I can post it on the Dutch Qtek forum, but they never react on things, so I think that they won't even try to fix this.

Anyway thanks for your help!
