Guest paulietheboy Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Hello Am a newbie with wifi - just got an SPV m500 and bought a Sitecom Wifi Card. Can't work out how to use it! Seems to have installed OK, but when I choose a connection to use and click on IE, it keeps starting up GPRS. Is this to do with my basic settings? Do I need to reconfigure somehow? Some basic help would be much appreciated.

I'd assume you'd have to change the connection settings: Start Menu > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks There should now be two pulldown menus: "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using" and "Programs that automatically connect to a Private network should connect using" I would assume that these are currently both set to "Orange World". Try looking at the options and see if there is one there for your Wifi card. If so, select this and it may or may not work!! Give it a try and see how it goes. Just one thing to remember, when you do want to use GPRS, you'd have to set these back to Orange World. As I said, I'm no expert on this as I've never tried a Wifi card on my M500 but it seems a logical thing to try. Good luck! ;)
Guest paulietheboy Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Sounds sensible, but no luck I'm afraid. If so, you might have to create a new connection using the wifi card. Beyond that I really couldn't suggest anything else beyond doing a search on the Pocket PC forum.

It was my team who made Cahill what he is today. Shame he had to knock us out of the cup this year.
